Odom to Play in Summer Game:

Lamar Odom of the Lakers has agreed to play in a summer all-star basketball game July 9 at Staples Center.

The game was founded 20 years ago as “A Midsummer Magic” by Magic Johnson to raise money for the United Negro College Fund. It has been taken over by current NBA players Baron Davis and Paul Pierce.

Davis starred at Crossroads School in Santa Monica and UCLA.

Some other NBA players who have committed to play are Sam Cassell and Shaun Livingston of the Clippers. Mike Bibby, Gilbert Arenas, Earl Watson and Ryan Hollins, UCLA’s center last season, will also play.
