Crossroads Bounces Back with Important Victory:

It wasn’t surprising when the Crossroads boys’ basketball team was crushed by Campbell Hall, 98-48, on Tuesday, January 9. Campbell Hall is rated 20th in the nation in one poll and seems far ahead of its Olympic League opponents.

The major news of the week involving Crossroads, however, was a 78-68 road victory three nights later over Windward in another league game.

Bouncing back with a balanced scoring attack was an example of why the Roadrunners have won 11 games, in contrast to last season when they won only four.

Coach Kevin Brown was extremely pleased with the outcome.

“Michael Ojo fouled out with six minutes to play and he’s been a phenomenal competitor,” said Brown. “But others came through.”

Merrick Lagorce-Ross scored 15 points, Ojo and Chris Allen had 12, Conrad Liebowitz and David Iranpour 11.

“We got a big lift from two sophomores, Iranpour and Solomon Hainna,” said Brown.

Crossroads was scheduled to begin a five-game homestand Tuesday, January 16, in a non-league game against Bosco Tech, and will host Calvary Chapel in a league game Friday, January 19.
