Venice Eliminated From Playoffs:

The Venice High boys basketball team was eliminated from the Los Angeles City Section Division 2 playoffs in a third round 69-56 loss to Reseda.

Venice, the No. 4 seed, received a first round bye and won its second round game from El Camino Real, 69-46.

University High, also from the Western League, will play Reseda in the championship game.

In Division 1 Western League co-champion Westchester will met Taft in the championship game. Taft upset Fairfax, which has USC-bound center Renardo Sidney and guard Solomon Hill, in the semi-finals.
