The Santa Monica Police Department hosted a promotion/recognition and awards ceremony at the Civic Auditorium on Tuesday.
This event recognized about 150 police officers (many from outside agencies) for their efforts in solving the Redding and Brumfield Homicide Investigations.
The ceremony also recognized recent promotions and additions to the SMPD family.
DSO Supervisor Art Lopez, TSO Lead Manuel Ramirez, Sgt. Dough Kohno and Sgt. William Heric all received promotions and Officers Daniel Diaz and Brandon Avila were sworn in to join the force.
The event was open to friends and family of everyone who was recognized.
