Woman Arrested For Throwing Cell Phone At Boyfriend: APB: Thrown Cell Leads To Cell.

On Thursday, March 8, at 12:18 a.m. officers were called to attend to a disturbance in the 800 block of Second Street.

When the officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, a man who told them what had happened.

Apparently, this man and his girlfriend had been out for dinner, and upon returning home they had decided to discuss some text messages.

This discussion became heated and the girlfriend decided to express her evident dislike of the text messages by throwing her cell phone at her boyfriend’s head, which apparently hurt.

The girlfriend then continued to assault her boyfriend until she was restrained and the police summoned.

The officers weighed the evidence, and after observing some minor injuries that had been sustained by the boyfriend, arrested this 50-year-old Los Angeles resident.

This woman was charged with domestic battery and put in a cell. Her bail was set at $20,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
