On Friday, June 1, at 5:44 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue after they had received a report of a battery.
When the officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, a man, who told the officers what had happened.
Apparently, this man was walking home along Ocean Avenue when he had cause to wait at a traffic light.
As he was waiting, four women approached him.
One of the women walked up behind him and began pressing her body against his backside. The man stepped away and requested that the woman cease her pressing.
The man then began to walk away but the woman who had been pressing her body against his backside walked alongside of him, demanding that he speak to her.
The man continued to walk and the woman then told the man that if he did not speak to her she was going to hit him.
The man did not speak, so, true to her word, the woman hit him with a clenched fist on the left side of his head and face area.
The woman then walked away, without having the conversation that she so evidently craved.
The officers went in search of this woman and located her in the 1600 block of Ocean Avenue where she was detained.
The man identified the woman and she was placed under a private person’s arrest.
This 21-year-old woman, from Inglewood, was then taken off to jail where she was charged with assault and battery.
Her bail was set at $20,000.
