4th Of July Main Street Parade Returns To Santa Monica On Thursday:

The Ocean Park Association has been the driving force behind Santa Monica's 4th of July Parade along Main Street since 2007.

The seventh annual 4th of July Main Street Parade presented by the Ocean Park Association will take place in Santa Monica this Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 am.

This year’s theme is “Heroes” with Chief of Police Jacqueline A. Seabrooks leading the procession as Grand Marshal.

Local groups plan to show that their heroes come in different shapes and sizes. There will be live music, pageantry, and general silliness.

Street closures will block drivers on Main Street from Colorado Avenue to Pico Boulevard from 6 am to noon, on Main Street from Pico to Marine from 9 am to noon, and Neilson Way at Marine from 10-11 am.

The following streets between 4th Street and Neilson Way will be closed from 8 am to noon: Pico, Bay, Bicknell, Pacific, Strand, Hollister, Ocean Park, Hill, Ashland, Pier, and Marine.

Parking is available at the Civic Center garage and surface lot for $3 (enter 4th Street/opens 6:30 am), Santa Monica Place (enter 2nd Street/opens 6:30 am), and parking meters west of Main (enter from Neilson Way).
