Bail was set at $50,000 on Friday, Nov. 15 for a 60-year-old Santa Monica who stole a key from his ex-partner’s residence then pushed her to the floor when the victim tried to stop him.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to investigate a domestic violence incident at 12:11 pm on this day in the 1800 block of Marine Street.
Upon arrival the officers apprehended and detained a man who fit the description of the suspect.
They then discovered the victim inside the residence in question and spoke with her. She told the officers that she had produced offspring with the suspect.
She added that the suspect did not officially reside at the location and that any romantic and intimate intercommunication that may have existed between them were now consigned to the regret folder of history.
She continued to inform the officers that on the above date she had heard someone moving around inside her apartment and when she looked into the living room she had seen the suspect there and that he was in the process of removing a key from her key ring.
The key that the suspect removed belonged to the suspect’s residence, to which she had legal access to enter.
The victim told the officers that she had confronted the suspect and informed him that he could not remove the key to which he had responded by pushing her to the floor.
The suspect then left the apartment with the key and was shortly afterwards detained by the responding officers.
This Santa Monica man was arrested and charged with robbery, burglary, and battery. Bail was set at $50,000.
