Unleashed by Petco will launch a three-week grand opening celebration for its latest store at 1402 Wilshire Boulevard on Saturday, continuing each weekend through Nov. 24.
Petco is branding Unleashed as a conveniently located, trustworthy and authentic shopping experience where pet needs always come first.
Located on the southeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and 14th Street, Unleashed by Petco filled the void left by Blockbuster Video’s departure of the tenant space.
Unleashed by Petco features a self-wash area for pet parents to bathe their respective pets, a training area, and a section dedicated to healthy eats.
Courtney Penley, the store’s dog and cat department manager, told The Mirror that Unleashed by Petco in Santa Monica should resonate well with local residents who have pets, as the one key mission of the store is pet health and wellbeing.
“The people who live in Santa Monica tend to be focused on health and nutrition and living the best lives for themselves. We focus on animals and making sure they are well taken care of,” Penley told The Mirror.
Much of what the store has to offer will be highlighted throughout the three-weekend grand opening.
This weekend, Unleashed by Petco will host a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 9 at 9 am. Two local organizations – Karma Rescue and Paws 4 Healing – will each be presented with a $1,500 donation at the ribbon cutting.
A community meet-and-greet and a complementary brunch are on deck Sunday, Nov. 10, from 11 am to 1 pm.
One week later, a pet-friendly photo booth will be available at Unleashed by Petco both Nov. 16 and 17. Dog owners will have the opportunity to use the photo booth to take pictures with their respective canine companions and take home a printed photo flipbook. Other treats and giveaways will be available both days.
Finally, Unleashed by Petco will be hosting Nov. 23 and 24 an Adoption Spotlight open house with Karma Rescue. At this open house, the store’s guests will have an opportunity to select one of a variety of pets to adopt. Each day, the first 50 guests in-store will receive a complimentary bag of cat or dog food.
