Orchestra Santa Monica To Perform Free Library Concert This Saturday:

Join the Santa Monica Public Library for a special concert by the Orchestra Santa Monica Strings section and guitarist Ricardo Escobar.

Santa Monica Public Library continues celebrating The Big Read with a free concert by the Orchestra Santa Monica (OSM) Strings this Saturday, April 12.

It will be held at 3:30 pm in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Join the library for this special concert by the OSM Strings and guitarist Ricardo Escobar.

Ricardo is the recipient of several awards, including first prize at both the America String Teachers Association (ASTA) Solo Competition and the Sigma Alpha lota Competition.

The musicians, who are active on both sides of the US-Mexico border, also discuss the cultural influences that inform their music.

Orchestra Santa Monica is under the musical direction of Allen Robert Gross.

The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, designed to celebrate literature by encouraging people to read for pleasure and enlightenment.
