Santa Monica police arrested a 23-year-old woman of Dallas, Texas on Sunday, June 15 after being caught inside a hotel bathroom with cocaine.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were at a hotel in the 100 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 1:20 am when they saw a man and two women walk into the ladies restroom of the hotel.
The manager of the hotel followed them into the restroom in order to advise the man that there was also a gentlemen’s restroom that he should use instead.
The manager saw that the man and one of the females had what he thought was cocaine so the manager left and told the police what he had witnessed.
Shortly afterwards the man and woman in question exited the restroom and were met by the officers.
The female removed her jacket and the officers noticed that she possessed a zip-lock type bag that contained a white powdery substance that the officer suspected was indeed cocaine.
The officers asked the woman about this substance and she confessed that it was cocaine.
The officers arrested this woman and she was charged with possession of cocaine.
The officers had conducted a narcotics presumptive chemical test on the white substance, which tested positive for cocaine prior to arresting the individual. Bail was set at $10,000.
