Kanan-Dume Road north of Malibu was briefly closed to traffic on Sunday as firefighters put out a small brushfire.
Mountain Resource and Conservation agency firefighters had the 25-by-50- foot fire out before Los Angeles County firefighters and helicopters got to it, according to the first responding county fire unit’s radio operator.
The fire broke out just after noon about 7 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, next to Kanan-Dume Road’s northern-most Tunnel 3.
CHP officers blocked northbound traffic at Mulholland Highway, but vehicles were allowed back through the tunnel at 1 p.m.
