The regional family services not-for-profit has planned community meetings for both properties.
Permanent housing could soon replace a Santa Monica mental health and family support center under a new redevelopment plan submitted by Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, as reported by Urbanize Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles-based non-profit organization wants to demolish its current facilities at 1533 and 1539 Euclid Street to clear the way for residential construction. Initial architectural plans detail a pair of modern two-story structures that will collectively house six large family apartments. Every unit within the proposed development will feature a three-bedroom layout, supported by a shared subterranean parking garage built underneath the complex.
Design concepts prepared by AUX Architecture show a contemporary architectural aesthetic for the property. Renderings feature geometric facades wrapped in gray stucco, with native landscaping and greenery integrated directly into the building fronts.
Transit and recreation hubs surround the proposed development site, which sits immediately north of the Metro E Line light rail right-of-way on Colorado Avenue and adjacent to Memorial Park. Vista Del Mar intends to maintain its regional service presence while transitioning the physical property assets to address local housing needs.
