Enjoy Free Yoga At Palisades Park On Sundays Through Sept. 21:

Naam Yoga LA has begun its annual “Beach Yoga” class taking place at Palisades Park (at Idaho and Ocean Avenue) in Santa Monica from 9-10 am. Classes are free to the community every Sunday, until Sept. 21 and taught by experienced Naam Yoga LA instructors.

There are a multitude of benefits when practicing yoga by the ocean, including increased happiness, improved peace of mind, better concentration, as well preventing and healing disease.

“The connection between ourselves, our brain, and the ocean is incredible.  Naam Yoga LA’s Beach Yoga is an opportunity to let go of the stresses from the previous week and prepare you for the week ahead – all while bringing healing to your body, strength to your spirit and light to your mind,” said Jane Mirshak, Naam Yoga LA executive director.

Mirshak said from a scientific point of view, the actual sound of waves alters brainwave patterns putting you in a calmer state.

“The technology in our lives exposes us to a surplus of positive ions,” Mirshak said. “As waves break on the shoreline, air particles break apart releasing negative ions into the atmosphere. This, along with the specific and practical technology of Naam Yoga, helps to enhance our immune system, increase our alertness and improve our concentration, all while having a great time”  reported.”

Students can register at online at www.naamyoga.com, call 310.751.7550 or just stop by. The class is open to all levels. Dogs are welcome. It is recommended to bring a mat and water.

Naam Yoga LA is a spiritual and physical wellness and research center. As a non profit 501 (c)(3), Naam Yoga LA’s mission is to empower people to improve their lives, and heal themselves, supporting people to balance the mind-body-spirit connection through the power of community.
