Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is scheduled to be in Sacramento today to seek support for the expansion of a film tax credit program and funding for city projects.
Garcetti has meetings scheduled with Gov. Jerry Brown and legislative leaders to discuss a bill that would increase the funding over the current $100 million to offer tax breaks to film project.
The mayor will discuss the bill and other topics at a news conference this afternoon, when he will be joined by fellow mayors from around the state, including Chuck Reed of San Jose, Ed Lee of San Francisco, Kevin Johnson of Sacramento and Robert Garcia of Long Beach.
Garcetti also plans to lobby for funding to be earmarked for city projects in a proposed water bond measure and the state’s cap-and-trade program.
Garcetti will return to Los Angeles later today, his aides said.
