Meals on Wheels West and Their Pet Program Win Spring into Kindsness Awards:

Meals on Wheels West & MOW West Pet Food Program  is the first recipient of the “Spring Into Kindness Beyond the Best  (BTB) Award”.  MOW West Executive Director Chris Baca and staff accepted this prestigious honor on Monday, May at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica.

Creator, producer and writer Spring de Haviland presenter says, “Meals on Wheels West and the MOW West Pet Food Program is “Beyond the Best” in providing exemplary meal delivery  and wellness  service checks  to clients homebound and their pets.

“MOW West sets the gold standard of compassion, caring and service to their clients and their furry friends!,” smiles de Haviland. “MOW West staff and volunteers are gold medalist, best of show…MVPs, most valuable people!”  

As the inaugural BTB honoree, MOW West exudes the highest professional standards of honor, respect and integrity with their clients.

Volunteers deliver more than a meal…they are warm, cheerful and exude a genuine concern for the clients well- being and personal and home safety.  Each visit is a compassionate interaction with the client to let them know they are important.

“MOW West teems with superlatives!  Most kind, considerate, caring…most authenthic in affirming the highest ideals of MOW West core values,” cites de Haviland.

Symbolic “Beyond the Best Awards” custom selected by de Haviland include a “gold” emmy statue with a gold whistle and a weather alarm clock normal & military time with temperatures both Fahrenheit & Celsius, humidity & forecast reading info.  Also a stuffed honey brown bear with a “Kindness…Paw it Forward! egg with paw prints, brain stimulator, a large mug with red kiss prints & filled with gourmet fortune cookies and”priceless”  passes to a private club given my Magician David Neubauer.

“Spring into Kindness Campaign” in 2012 & 2016 contacted all the presidential candidates twice!  Spring asked, “How are you going to be nice, kind and well-mannered to your opponents?”  In 2012, only Sen. Ron Paul emailed back!

2016 celebrates the fifth anniversary which holds court every first day of Spring on the Santa Monica Pier by the Carousel Merry Go Round!

Spring announced that the Meals on Wheels West & MOW West Pet Food Program were the first recipient of the “Spring into Kindness Campaign Beyond the Best Award” honor and her “K9 fore Kindness”, “Feline for Kindness”, “Equine-ness for Kindness” and Critters for Kindness” in an interview by KOST-FM’s radio host Karen Sharp which aired Monday, May 9, 2016.
