An Introductory Guide to Levitra

Studies show that around 400,000 out-patient physician visits are because of erectile problems faced by men. It’s common to use erectile dysfunction (ED) medications, like Cialis or Viagra, when experiencing problems performing sexually, but if you’re looking to switch your medicine, you can consider Levitra as a candidate.

It’s essential that you’re aware of the medicines you take and any side effects they might carry. If Levitra is the right choice for you, we will break down a few details about how Levitra works and the correct way of using it.

What Is Levitra?

Levitra is a remedy used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It relaxes the blood vessels of the penis, helping to increase blood flow and, in turn, sustain an erection for a longer period of time. It’s quite similar to the active component Sildenafil found in Viagra. However, Levitra offers the advantage of lasting a bit longer.

Levitra is available for purchase in the form of film-coated tablets. You should take it within half an hour to an hour before you engage in sexual activity. The drug is typically effective up to five hours after it is taken. You should note that you can take only a single tablet in a 24-hour period. You need to be sexually stimulated once you’ve swallowed this tablet, since it alone cannot give you an erection by itself.

You can take Levitra with or without food, but consuming alcohol is not recommended both before or after you have taken the drug. Alcohol reduces your blood pressure and makes it harder for an individual to get an erection.

Dosage

The dosage prescribed to you will be dependent on your ED symptoms, how you respond to the treatment, and any other medications you might be using. The two common tablet dosages are 10mg and 20mg. If you’re a first-time user, you are likely to be prescribed Levitra 10mg, but in extreme cases, you might also be prescribed Levitra 20mg. If you’re above the age of 65, or if you’re taking other medication, you may even be prescribed a dose of 5mg or less at the start.

Side Effects

Side effects caused by Levitra are commonly mild, but in some cases, they can be serious. It’s important you go through the patient information leaflet included with the medication as it lists down possible side effects and warnings to consider before taking Levitra. You should avoid using this medication with alcohol. Stop taking it immediately if you notice any allergic reaction.

Some common side effects include indigestion, headaches, back pain, and dizziness. Serious side effects can include nausea, chest pain, vision loss, and shortness of breath. If you experience any of these extreme conditions, you should instantly stop using Levitra and get in touch with your doctor for further guidance.

Endnote

If you’re having trouble in the bedroom, Levitra could be what you need to find the purpose and passion required to reignite the spark in your sex life and solidify your relationship with your partner. You can consult your doctor and obtain a prescription. The process is even simpler now as you can order Levitra online and have it delivered to your doorstep in a few days.
