Fatal Crash Closes Section of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu

Two-Car Collision Results in Fatality, Road Closure

A fatal two-car crash closed a section of Pacific Coast Highway on Tuesday around 2:00 p.m. according to social media posts by the Lost Hills Sheriffs Station. Photos showed the impact between a white van that was driven off the road and a grey Honda Civic, with serious damage to the front end of the car.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to an area hospital. No additional information has been released about the condition of the second driver or the names of the victims.

PCH was shut down between Paradise Cove Road and Winding Way in response to the accident for about 6 hours, from 1:35 p.m. to 7:35 p.m. but the road has now reopened completely.

The Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District sent out an email press release that acknowledged that parents might have difficulty reaching their children at the school and that accommodations would be made.
