Farmers Market Report: Meet Your Farmer

Who: Armando and Leticia Garcia of Garcia Organic Farm

Where: 30 acres in Fallbrook in San Diego County

What: Armando�s father started Garcia Organic Farm from scratch in 1989 on virgin land. It has been certified organic since day one and they have three water wells on their farm.� They grow a wide variety of citrus and avocados.� Winter is peak season for citrus, and right now at their stand you will find Meyer lemons, guavas, Kishumini seedless mandarins, satsumas, and Valencia oranges, as well as Fuerte, Zutano, Bacon, Pinkerton, and early Haas avocados.��

Why:� The Garcia�s love the direct contact they have with their customers at Farmers Markets. Armando and Leticia have a two-year-old daughter, Rosie, who they hope will take over the farm one day. You can find Garcia Organic Farm at the Wednesday, Saturday Downtown, and Sunday Main Street Markets.
