The man who died after being struck by a Metrolink train has been identified, authorities said Saturday.
George Gregory Plitt Jr., 37, of Burbank was a former Calvin Klein model, an actor and fitness expert who had been featured in a Bravo TV series titled “Work Out” and on the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives.” He is scheduled to appear in a new Bravo show, “Friends to Lovers,” which premieres Monday, according to Variety.
Plitt was struck at 4:05 p.m. on the tracks at Front Street, just north of the Burbank Metrolink Station, according to Lt. Leo Bauer of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau.
A witness told KABC-TV Plitt was dressed in black and carrying a camcorder when he stumbled onto the tracks. He was pronounced dead at the scene, said Burbank police Sgt. Scott Meadows.
Metrolink said Plitt was hit by train 268 on the Antelope Valley Line. The train was southbound, according to Burbank police.
Passengers on the train were transferred to buses while the investigation continued at the scene.
