Once upon a time, sleek, elegant cars cruised the canyon and beach roads in Malibu. Today, it’s SUVs. But Sunday, the sleek, elegant cars will return for a day.
The first Malibu Concours by the Sea will feature a vintage car Show, X-treme demonstrations, as well as the obligatory Taste of…with samples from Malibu restaurants.
Scheduled for Sunday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bluffs Park, 24250 Pacific Coast Highway, overlooking the ocean at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road, adjacent to Pepperdine University.
The Concours display will showcase an array of exotic and collectible vehicles from the turn of the century to the present.
Produced by Andy Cohen, who has co-produced car shows in Beverly Hills for 25 years; and Event Director Landy Koerner, who has directed the Concours on Rodeo for the past five years, the event will benefit the Malibu divisions of the L.A. County Fire and Sheriffs Department, and the Malibu Park and Recreation Fund
Among the classes in the car show are American, British, Italian, French and German classics, Ferraris, hot rods, muscle, race, vintage race and sports cars and 50s and 60s cars, as well as vintage motorcycles,, bicycles and scooters.
There will also displays of vintage surfboards and woodies, vintage boats from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, a Ferrari Spyder retrospective, Admission is $25, $10 for children 12 and under.INFORMATION: Website www.malibuconcours.com or (310) 360-6900
