Renowned pediatrician Howard Reinstein will receive the Inspiration Award from Camp Discovery, a leading provider of summer camp activities for autistic and special needs children, held in Pacific Palisades’ Temescal Canyon Gateway Park. The Inspiration Award is given to a professional serving the community who exemplifies an unwavering commitment to children with special needs. Dr. Reinstein has been a practicing pediatrician for 23 years, and is a founding Board member of Camp Discovery. Called “a doctor’s doctor” by his peers, he is admired for his knowledge, his dedication, and his patience.
In addition to honoring Dr. Howard Reinstein, 14-year-old Ruthy Froch will be receiving the Youth Inspiration Award for her outstanding work while at Camp Discovery. Ruthy has volunteered at the camp for the last two summers and has been wonderfully successful working with the younger campers. Ruthy enjoys performing and says, “I never thought my heart could be as full as when I am on stage. But every time I enter Camp Discovery and see the faces of the children, I feel a special connection and enjoy making a difference in their lives.”
The event will be held at the Luxe Hotel in Brentwood on Wednesday, February 20, at 6 p.m. For more information, call 818.501.5522 or go to campdiscoveryla.org.
