Unable to Pay, Diner Turns Self in to Officers: APB: A Glutton For Punishment

On Thursday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m., officers went to the Denny’s Restaurant, located on the 1500 block of Lincoln Boulevard, on the trail of a group of people who had reportedly left without paying their bill. Officers scanned the area, but were unable to find the offenders, so they returned to Denny’s and spoke with the waitress who had served the suspects.

As the officers were taking a statement from the waitress, another diner in the establishment approached them and informed them that he had just finished his meal (valued at $16.43) but had no means with which to pay the bill. The officers arrested this 24-year-old man from Inglewood, and dished him out a charge of defrauding an innkeeper. If he didn’t have enough on his plate after that, officer also served him with a further charge of violation of probation. His bail was set at $10,000.
