Santa Monica Prepares For Wisconsin, Oregon Fans For Rose Bowl Pep Rallies:

Santa Monica will welcome the University of Wisconsin and the University of Oregon for their pre-game pep rallies near the famed Santa Monica Pier at the end of this month.

Complimentary and open to the public, both events will feature specialties from local food vendors and varied entertainment.

This month, thousands of fans will kick-off the New Year in Santa Monica with a Southern California visit for the 98th Rose Bowl Game and the Tournament of Roses Parade.

Santa Monica encourages fans, alumni, players, coaches, cheerleaders and other VIPs to explore the quintessential California seaside city, with its 8.3 square miles of walkable streets and its 400+ world-class restaurants, sports bars, pubs, lounges and shops.

Wisconsin’s pep rally will take place on Saturday, Dec. 31 and University of Oregon’s pep rally will take place on Sunday, Jan. 1.

Attendees can check www.santamonica.com/deals for discounts, not to miss activities, hotel availability and suggestions.

“Santa Monica is excited to once again welcome two champion teams,” said Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom. “I believe that one thing all fans will agree on is that Santa Monica offers a broad range of world class amenities to enjoy before and after the Parade and game.”

Misti Kerns, president and CEO Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau, said Santa Monica’s local businesses were excited about the influx of visitors from both of these teams.

“We hope to again see fans enjoying all that our destination has to offer and encourage local fans to join in the fun and celebrate the New Year holidays where else, but right here at the beach,” Kerns said.

Recently named one of America’s “Top 10 Beach Cities” by National Geographic, Santa Monica is a centrally located Los Angeles haven.

Just a short distance from LAX and Pasadena, Santa Monica offers sunshine, beaches, and stress-free access to Pasadena through direct shuttles, as well as the special Rose Bowl Big Blue Bus packages for attendees.
