Starting Monday, Jan. 23 for one week, the City of Santa Monica invites residents to kick-start their New Year resolution to get in shape with “Active Santa Monica Week” at the Memorial Park Fitness Room.
Through Jan. 30, everyone (ages 16+) is welcome to try the fitness room located at 1401 Olympic Blvd during Active Week for free.
In addition to drop-in use, the following free classes will be offered during active week: Group Fitness, Yoga Sculpt, and Abs! Workout. Check Active Santa Monica’s facebook page for details: www.facebook.com/ActiveSM.
Equipment at the Memorial Park Fitness Room includes LifeFitness strength training machines, free weights, and cardio machines.
Unlike most gyms, no membership is required to use the Memorial Park Fitness Room.
Just sign a waiver and go (guests under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver). Entry is normally $3 per visit for residents, and $4 per visit for non-residents.
Four-week passes are also available – just $24 for residents and $32 for non-residents.
The fitness room is open Monday – Friday, noon – 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon – 7 p.m.
Active Santa Monica is a new citywide initiative to enhance the well-being of our community through fitness, recreation and healthy lifestyles.
