On Friday, March 23, at 4:57 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the CVS Pharmacy located at 1411 Lincoln Boulevard after they had received a report of a theft suspect in custody.
When they arrived, officers spoke with the Loss Prevention Agents who said the suspect had entered the store and had proceeded to spend about one hour loitering in the cosmetics department.
The suspect had been seen to place several items in her purse.
This woman had then selected a few items into the shopping basket and checked out of the store, omitting to make any payment for the items concealed within her purse.
The suspect then left the store and was apprehended outside by the Loss Prevention Agents, and the concealed cosmetics were recovered.
The officers, after hearing the evidence, arrested this 60-year-old Santa Monica resident and she was charged with petty theft.
This woman’s bail was set at $1,000.
