Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom Leads Narrowly In 50th Assembly Race: 50th Assembly District Voters Deliver Richard Bloom A Narrow Victory

Richard Bloom holds a narrow victory over Betsy Butler after 100 percent of precincts were counted as part of the Nov. 6 election.

The race for the 50th Assembly District was the closest of all districts on Election Night, but Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom appears to have a narrow victory of 218 votes over incumbent Betsy Butler.

As of 6:39 a.m. Wednesday, the LA County Registrar’s Office is reporting 100 percent counting of all 299 precincts in the district.

Bloom leads with 50.1 percent (69,280 votes) to Butler’s 49.9 percent (69,062 votes).

The newly created 50th Assembly District represents Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Malibu, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Topanga, West Hollywood, and Westlake Village.
