What’s coming up in February?
1450 Ocean’s first studio artist in residence, Luke Haynes, will be taking the month to work on his photo-realistic quilts and other fabric interventions.
On Saturdays on Feb. 8, 15, and 22 he’ll be leading community quilt making workshops with the final product to be given to a local charity.
Take part in design, cutting, piecing, quilting and more on the shared sewing machines, or bring your own projects and questions for Haynes.
Visit the fruits of his (and your) labors in a culminating quilt exhibit the evening of March 1. Learn more at lukehaynes.com.
In February, 1450 Ocean’s Second Saturday Free Craft Lounge will be held Saturday Feb. 8 from 10:30 am to 2 pm, and special guests reDiscover artists will lead a repurposing/upcycling workshop.
1450 Ocean is also playing both sides with a Valentine’s Heart Pendant workshop and an Anti-Valentine Supper for One class with the Farmer’s Market (to be announced soon). And there will be a glass enamel on copper class with local jeweler Sharon Kaplan.
