On Monday, May 19, at 7:24 p.m., officers of the Santa Monica Police Dept. went to the 1200 block of Wilshire Boulevard in order to investigate a report of domestic violence.
Upon arrival at the location they spoke with the victim who told them that she and her boyfriend had been in a relationship for four years. That day the boyfriend had become upset because he wanted to spend the day with the victim but she said that she had other things that she would rather do (watch grass grow, perhaps?).
An argument had ensued and she had left him.
Later on she said she had returned to the area that the couple would sleep in (they were both homeless) and she said that her boyfriend had spotted her on the corner, walked up to her and punched her several times in the face. She added that he had told her to leave the sleeping area or he would kill her.
She then went and called the police.
The officers later found this 44-year-old man at the intersection of 12th Street and California Avenue.
He was arrested and charged with domestic violence. Bail was set at $50,000.
