A six-block perimeter was established Friday night in Palms as police searched for a possibly armed man.
The suspect was briefly confronted by a Los Angeles Police Department sergeant, who believed he saw a weapon, LAPD Lt. Daniel Gonzales said.
The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. in the 3400 block of Keystone Avenue, near Palms Boulevard and Overland Avenue, when the sergeant attempted to stop the suspect to speak to him, Gonzales said.
The suspect refused to speak to the sergeant and then ran off, Gonzales said.
The sergeant believed the suspect was armed, Gonzales said.
