A half-naked woman was arrested at Santa Monica Beach on Thursday, Oct. 1, after stealing a GoPro camera and other belongings from beachgoers.
At 10:45 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were requested to attend the Santa Monica Beach in order to investigate a report of a woman who had been seen walking around the beach area naked.
Upon arrival the officers spotted a woman walking towards the ocean wearing a hat and a shirt but bereft of clothing below the waist.
The officers stopped this woman and as they did so they noticed her drop a GoPro camera in the sand. As the officers were talking with the woman two other beachgoers approached and told the officers that they believed that this woman had stolen various items from them, in particular a GoPro camera.
The officers recovered all of the allegedly stolen property and returned the items to the beachgoers before arresting this 38-year-old homeless woman.
She was later charged with possession of stolen property, public nudity, and a violation of probation. Bail was set at $10,000.
