YWCA To Hold “Stand Against Racism Rally” This Friday:

The YWCA Santa Monica/Westside is partnering with educator and activist Kesa Kivel this Friday, April 26 to host a rally on the streets of Santa Monica.

The organization is calling on the community to join the YWCA in taking a bold “Stand Against Racism” by participating in a rally open to the public at the corner of 14th and Pico in Santa Monica on Friday at 4 pm.

“The purpose of the rally is to acknowledge that racism exists and that we should not only protest racial incidents after they occur, but also demonstrate proactively – with passion and commitment – our desire for a world in which equality and fairness exist for all,” Kivel said.

No RSVP is required to be part of the rally.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring their own signs, with ideas such as “I Stand Against Racism,” “Equality For All,” “Celebrate Diversity,” and “Racism Hurts Everyone.”

The rally will be held rain or shine. It will end at the YWCA, 2019 14th Street, Santa Monica.
