The City of Santa Monica will receive the designation of being a “TsunamiReady” and “StormReady” City by the National Weather Service at tonight’s City Council meeting.
The Office of Emergency Management works to prepare those who live, work, and play in Santa Monica for emergencies or events that can occur at any time.
Authorities encourage everyone in Southern California to follow three basic steps to emergency preparedness: 1) have a kit. 2) make a plan. 3) be informed.
The steps taken to achieve the “TsunamiReady” and “StormReady” designations in Santa Monica are key components of the City’s community-wide preparedness efforts to protect lives, property, and the environment.
