Healthgrades Recognizes Santa Monica’s Providence Saint John’s Health Center:

A report released on Tuesday by Healthgrades, a national independent source of physician information and hospital quality ratings, recognized all six Providence Health & Services, Southern California, medical centers for excellent clinical outcomes.

Providence medical centers received a total of nearly 100 awards in a variety of specialties including critical care, pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology and orthopedics.        

“Our physicians, nurses and other clinicians – our entire team – are committed to providing the highest quality care, resulting in the best possible outcomes across all our specialties,” said Lanny Eason, M.D., chief medical officer of Providence Health & Services, Southern California. “All of our Providence caregivers share in these awards from Healthgrades, which measures quality based on outcomes and complication rates.”

Healthgrades provides a consumer website that allows consumers to review hospitals and physicians for quality.

Providence, a Catholic not-for-profit organization, operates Providence Holy Cross, Providence Saint Joseph and Providence Tarzana medical centers in the San Fernando Valley, Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers in Torrance and San Pedro.

Here are the awards Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica earned:

CARDIAC

— Recipient of the Healthgrades Cardiac Care Excellence Award for six years in a row

— Named among the Top 10 percent in the Nation for Overall Cardiac Services for six years in a row

— Five-Star Recipient for Coronary Interventional Procedures for seven years in a row

— Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Heart Attack for 13 years in a row

— Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Heart Failure in 2015

ORTHOPEDICS

— Recipient of the Healthgrades 2015 Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award

— Recipient of the Healthgrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award for four years in a row

— Named among the Top 5 percent in the Nation for Joint Replacement for four years in a row

— Named among the Top 10 percent in the Nation for Overall Orthopedic Services in 2015

— Named among the Top 10 percent in the Nation for Joint Replacement for four years in a row

— Five-Star Recipient for Total Knee Replacement for five years in a row

— Five-Star Recipient for Total Hip Replacement for four years in a row-

— Five-Star Recipient for Spinal Fusion Surgery in 2015
