A 21-year-old Las Vegas woman was arrested for assaulting a customer at a Santa Monica Tender Greens restaurant on Friday, May 1.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the Tender Greens at 201 Arizona Ave. at 7 pm in order to investigate a “disturbance.”
En route the officers were told by dispatch that the caller had said that a woman who was described as being “intoxicated” had just assaulted her in the restaurant.
The suspect was described as a black female, about 5’5” and wearing a pink crop top with blue shorts.
A responding officer spotted the suspect walking westbound on Arizona Ave. with two other women; the responding officer detained the suspect at that time.
The officer began to speak with the suspect and as she was doing so the victim arrived at the location and said, “Yes, that’s her. The girl in the pink top just hit me in the face!”
An officer spoke with the victim who said the suspect and the two other females had been at Tender Greens and had been behaving in a loud and obnoxious manner, yelling at each other as well as other customers.
The victim added that she had been seated at her table enjoying her Tender Greens meal and as the three loud women had passed by her towards the exit, the suspect striking her in the mouth with her right hand. This version of the events was corroborated by two other witnesses including an employee of the restaurant.
The officer arrested the suspect, aged 21, and a resident of Las Vegas and she was charged with assault. Bail was set at $20,000. The victim did not report any injuries as a result of the assault.
