Samohi Baseball Raises $30K With Poker Tournament: Celebrity Influence From MLB Players and Charlie Sheen Bring in Money For Baseball Team

Charlie Sheen arrived at the poker tournament and auction to show his support for Samohi baseball. Pictured with Samohi head baseball coach Sheldon Philip-Guide (left) and assistant coach Tony Todd (right).

Although they came because they enjoy the thrill of poker and a love for baseball, celebrities like Entertainment Tonight’s Chris Jacobs, actor Charlie Sheen and Major League Baseball players Derrek Lee, Coco Crisp and Kenny Lofton also knew if they lost money, it was going to a good place.

The third annual Samohi Baseball Charity Poker Tournament and Auction at the Moose Lodge on Saturday night raised $30,000 for the Samohi baseball team, with about 70 percent of the items up for auction still to be sold.

Those items will be auctioned at another event in the future and the money raised from those items will go to the team as well.
