Wokcano Date Night For Couple Ends With Female Half In Handcuffs For Fighting: Alert Police Blotter: Eruption Of Anger!

A date night for a couple at Wokcano restaurant ended with the female half in handcuffs on Sunday, Jan. 13 after an argument erupted into a fight with the woman attacking her boyfriend.

At 11:09 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the restaurant at 1314 Fifth Street after they had received a report of a domestic violence incident that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived they spoke with the couple, finding that the boyfriend was the victim in the incident.

The officers discovered that this couple cohabited, and also that on this date they had become embroiled in an argument.

During the course of this embroilment the girlfriend had struck the boyfriend in his face and also had scratched his neck.

The officers spoke with a number of witnesses who told them that the girlfriend had in fact been the aggressor and had committed the aforementioned assaults.

The officers arrested this 24-year-old resident of Sherman Oaks and she was charged with domestic violence and public intoxication. Bail was set at $50,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
