A romantic day at the Santa Monica Pier for a couple celebrating their first anniversary ended in the female half ending up in jail on Thursday, May 30 after an argument turned into an assault.
At 8:07 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were summoned to the 200 block of the Santa Monica Pier in order to investigate a domestic violence report.
When the officers arrived they discovered a man and a woman who told them that they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
The officers learned that this young couple had visited Santa Monica that day from their home in Ontario in order to celebrate the love that had blossomed between them during the past year, as that day was their very first anniversary.
During this romantic trip things had turned sour between them and the joys of spring had soon turned into a winter of discontent.
Eventually things became very stormy and the girlfriend had torn the boyfriend’s shirt and inflicted several scratches upon his body and face.
The girlfriend had then used the boyfriend’s cellphone in order to call the police to report the incident and a small scratch to her little pinky finger.
As the investigation unfolded it became clear to the officers that the girlfriend was the primary aggressor and so they arrested her.
This 21-year-old resident of Ontario was charged with domestic violence and her bail was set at $50,000.
