Good, Good, Good, Good Vibrations- Healing Through Music and Sound: UCLArts and Healing Presents Workshop on Healing Nature of Sound and Music

A one-day, highly interactive workshop designed to examine the healing nature of sound and music. It includes an intercultural improvisation group and presentations by a master Himalayan singing artist, mindful toning vocalist/mindfulness facilitator and a drum circle specialist in sonic traditions from world cultures. The workshop is Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Tamkin Auditorium, Room B130, 757 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095.


Featured presenters include:

  • Tobi Fishel, PhD – Finding Your Rhythm: The Science and Practice of Music & Sound Healing
  • Jahna and Michael Perricone – Savoring the Sound Scape to Enhance Awareness: A sonic immersion of Ancient Himalayan Singing Bowls, Mindful Meditation, Vocal Toning and Song
  • Omni-Musicality Group (OMG) – an intercultural improvisation ensemble from the UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology
  • Giavanni Washington, PhD, MPH – Across the Threshold: Transformation Through Rhythm, Ceremony and Community

The workshop is cosponsored by the UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology, UCLA Center for East-West Medicine and USC Institute for Integrative Health.
